At Nobull, we've spent years working with pet brands, charities and industry organisations, 26 years, in fact, so we know first-hand the difference great marketing makes.
The best cause-led campaigns don't behave like charities. They behave like brands. They have a clear purpose, a distinctive voice and a message that people remember and want to share.
That's why marketing matters. Awareness alone doesn't change outcomes. Action does.
One example I’ve found fascinating recently (been a bit in awe of, truthfully) is Project Slingshot. It’s a campaign designed to change public attitudes towards factory farming and if you were travelling anywhere on London’s Tube network during May and June, you’ll have definitely seen it. What's impactful isn't just the cause itself, but the way it's been marketed. Instead of behaving like a traditional awareness campaign, it behaves like a brand - with a distinctive identity, a clear message and the kind of creative thinking normally associated with the world's biggest consumer companies.
Sausages and bacon are now officially banned in our house.
It's a reminder that causes don't compete with other causes for attention. They compete with Netflix, TikTok, Nike and every other brand fighting for a place in people's minds. The organisations that understand that are often the ones that create real momentum.
The same is true in the pet sector. A well-executed campaign can help a rescue centre find homes for dogs that have been overlooked for months. It can raise vital funds for a charity. It can attract volunteers. It can put animal welfare issues in front of people who might never otherwise have thought about them.
Whether it's encouraging adoptions, generating donations or raising awareness of responsible pet ownership, the right campaign can have a lasting impact.
So, this why we're delighted to be sponsoring the Best Marketing Campaign for Rescue Pets category at the Rescue Pet Awards 2026. Organised by Only Rescues, the awards celebrate the people and organisations making a real difference to rescue animals across the UK.
Our award recognises the marketing campaigns that have done exactly that – using creativity, strategy and smart communication to support rescue pets and the organisations that care for them.
Part of a bigger commitment
Supporting the Rescue Pet Awards this year isn't a one-off for us.
The pet industry is a big part of what we do at Nobull and we're genuinely passionate about helping it grow and thrive. We speak annually at the Pet Industry Federation's Business of Pets Conference, sharing marketing insights with businesses from across the sector and hosting fascinating panel discussions.
We're also proud sponsors of the annual Marketing Award at the PIF Awards, which celebrates the brands and businesses setting the standard for great marketing in our industry.
For us, these partnerships are about much more than visibility. They're about championing an industry that does so much for pets and the people who love them – and also about living and breathing the sector as much as possible, so that we can gather the invaluable insights you only gain as an ‘insider’.
Supporting Animal Welfare
Alongside our work with commercial pet brands, we also get the privilege of working with animal welfare charities.
Charities and rescue organisations often do incredible work with limited time and resources. And if we can help them tell their stories more effectively, reach more people and attract more support, that's something we're always proud to be involved in.
That's one of the reasons the Rescue Pet Awards resonated with us. They don't just celebrate rescue pets; they celebrate the volunteers, charities, shelters and organisations working tirelessly behind the scenes to give animals a second chance.
If you've worked on a campaign that's helped rescue pets, or you know a team that deserves some recognition, entries are open! https://www.therescuepetawards.com/
